Hello, I am Kenneth McGee of Mastermix Audio Media. I have been providing audio engineering, production, system design and consulting services for over 30 years. I work primarily in the Tri-State(NJ/NY/PA) area doing studio and live(FOH/Monitor) engineering, TV, Post, Location, ENG and EFP audio production, and design/consultation of music production and audio systems. I am based in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
Additionally, I am beginning my 29th year at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey, in a new role as a "Learning Space Specialist” in Brookdale’s Innovation Center, formerly the Teaching and Learning Center. Weirdly enough, this feels rather like deja vu as the Instructional Development Laboratory, a department I worked in during my early years performed similar functions to my current unit, though brought up to modern technology and techniques.
During the past 28 years previous to 2015, I supervised the daily operations of a multitrack audio recording facility on the campus as part of the Audio Production Services area of the Educational Technology Services department, both of which were eliminated as a result of Brookdale’s 2014 Reduction In Force after being classified as “redundant". In this position I performed a variety of in-house production work, from educational podcast development to audio-for-video post to Front-Of-House live sound, and much more. I also offered mentoring and internship opportunities in a professional audio environment in which I had a key role in designing, constructing, and operating. My colleagues and I had also implemented and managed distance education and telepresence applications utilizing Broadband Cable delivery, ISDN, Video over IP, Fiber Optic Interactive TV transmission(IDLS), remote control over LAN and VPN, and VNC. Our experience was invaluable in the design and construction of a network of Interactive Television(ITV) classrooms and videoconferencing suites utilizing these technologies at the Lincroft main campus, the Long Branch, Eastern Monmouth(Neptune), and Northern Monmouth(Hazlet) satellite campuses, the New Jersey Coastal Communiversity in Wall Township, and the Western Monmouth Higher Education Center in Freehold which is part of a partnership with Rutgers University. The systems have been used to teach a variety of courses in subjects as diverse as English Literature, Medical Terminology, Economics, Psychology, Contract Law, and Speech. We had also used these facilities in conjunction with other educational institutions, a few being Stevens Institute of Technology, Kean University, and Fairleigh Dickinson University.
I am a Full Member of the Audio Engineering Society.
